Today, PC Gamer reported that a sequel was in the works. While details are deficient, the outlet confirmed that "Darkest Dungeon's combat system will exist returning in a recognizable only tuned-upwards grade" and "the studio is focused on creating a completely different structure for its metagame."

Hopefully Darkest Dungeon Ii will be as enthralling as the first game. Darkest Dungeon launched in 2022 and Xbox One owners had to look two years for it to hit the system. Here's hoping that the sequel doesn't go through the same filibuster.
